Six outstanding volunteers recognized for selfless service
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (May 1, 2023) – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve proudly announces the 2022 Volunteers of the Year (VOTY). Volunteers who serve in following functional and operational areas were nominated by their respective State Committee for the prestigious honor of being named Volunteer of the Year: Military Outreach, Employer Outreach, Public Affairs, Training, Ombudsman, and Operations.
SPOKANE, Wash. – Kevin Dennehy, a branch manager at Alside Supply Center, was presented with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award recently in recognition of extraordinary support of his employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.
WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. – Malea Ivy, manager with the Whidbey Medical Health Center was presented with a spousal Patriot Award by John Van Dalen, ombudsman for the Washington Employer of the Guard and Reserve Committee, for her support of her employee who spouse serves in the Reserve Component.
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Jeff deGraan, a supervisor at the Washington Department of Natural Resources was presented with a Patriot Award, by Mary Miller, south sound co-chair for the Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee, in recognition of extraordinary support of his employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.
TACOMA, Wash. – Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program, announced Tacoma Fire Department, signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve during the presentation of an ESGR Patriot Award to Battalion Chief Doug Kimball.
