ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recognized the 2018 Volunteers of the Year (VOTY) during the National Leadership Meeting Nov. 15. Volunteers who serve in following functional and operational areas were nominated by their respective State Committee for the prestigious honor of being named Volunteer of the Year: Military Outreach, Employer Outreach, Public Affairs, Training, Ombudsman, and Operational.
NEWPORT, Vt. – On behalf of the Vermont committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, ESGR volunteer Dan Pipes was joined by the Vermont adjutant general, Brig. Gen. Greg Knight and Command Sgt. Maj. Nathan Chipman to present a Patriot Award to the area manager of Portland Glass. Accepting the award on behalf of recipient Jason Brochu was his brother Jamie Brochu.

MONTPELIER, Vt. – Governor Phil Scott signed a proclamation at the State House Office on Wednesday, 21 August 2019 designating Aug. 19-23, as Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve week in Vermont. This ceremony acknowledged the ongoing support of civilian employers of our citizen warriors from all branches of the United States military.
WILLISTON, Vt. – On behalf of the Vermont Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Vice-Chair Jerry Manock and Military Outreach Director Dan Pipes presented Liam O'Farrell with a Patriot Award Aug. 19. O'Farrell received the award because of the extraordinary support he provides his Vermont Army National Guard employee, Spc. Jacob Miller.
