ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recognized the 2018 Volunteers of the Year (VOTY) during the National Leadership Meeting Nov. 15. Volunteers who serve in following functional and operational areas were nominated by their respective State Committee for the prestigious honor of being named Volunteer of the Year: Military Outreach, Employer Outreach, Public Affairs, Training, Ombudsman, and Operational.
WASHINGTON – Fifteen private-sector and municipal employers received the 2019 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award at a Pentagon ceremony for providing exceptional support to their employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserves.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Jeff Hurben, owner and instructor with Midnight Sun Martial Arts Academy, was presented with a Department of Defense Seven Seals Award in January by Ron Woolf, North Area volunteer for the Alaska State Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee, at his studio.
WASHINGTON – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) program, has identified 135 employers as semifinalists for the 2019 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, commonly referred to as the Freedom Award.
