LUVERNE, Minn. – Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Kubeah of the U.S. Army Reserve nominated his supervisor Dave Vandervliet at CHS Co. in Luverne for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award.
Presenting the Patriot Award to Vandervliet is Doug Broich the ESGR Region 5 Chair Sept 19. Kubeah is presently deployed for one year and requested that the award be presented to his supervisor now. Kubeah said that Vandervliet realizes that his military service is important to him and his family.
Kubeah went on to say, "Mr. Vandervliet is understanding when I have to give him little to no notice before I need to leave for service. When he sees my wife or kids he always asks how I am doing and told them that if they need anything don’t be afraid to ask."
ESGR is a Department of Defense office which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
