MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –  Donna Shahan a supervisor at West Virginia University Hospital recently received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award presented by ESGR volunteer Mark Hadix, for the extraordinary support provided to employee Spc. Kyla Groves - a service member of the West Virginia Air National Guard.

“Mrs. Shahan’s commitment to providing support to myself and my family while I am called to service is unparalleled.” states Ms. Groves in her nomination summary.  “Often, I have been called on extreme short notice and she has always supported the mission with high regards.”

ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
