ESGR in the News

CHASKA, Minn. – Minnesota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve participated in the signing of a Statement of Support with Tokyo Electron Ltd (TEL) March 18 at their facility in Chaska.

Tokyo Electron President and General Manager Mark Dougherty signed the Statement of Support at a ceremony that included several of their current employees (both Veterans and currently serving), and also included members of the TEL "Beyond The Yellow Ribbon" committee.

The Statement of Support confirms Tokyo Electron Ltd joins other employers in pledging:

We fully recognize, honor and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).

We will provide our managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

We appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.

We will continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families, in peace, in crises and in war.

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. This year, ESGR celebrates 50 years of excellence in support of the Reserve Components and their civilian employers.  For more information about ESGR outreach programs or volunteer opportunities visit

Also in attendance was Col. Suarez from the Minnesota National Guard, and representatives from the Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs, and Minnesota Department of Military Affairs.
