ST. PAUL, Minn. – Army National Guard Capt. Danielle Purdy nominated her medical employment supervisor, Lori Luther, to receive the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award.
The award was presented Feb. 10 during the Nurses' Huddle at the Allina Health United Mother Baby Center at United and Children's Minnesota Hospital in recognition of Luther's support of her employee's service to the Minnesota National Guard.
Purdy was most appreciative of her Employer's support and assistance with her Guard deployments and wanted to honor both her supervisor and the health care organization.
"Lori has always offered her support and makes the process of leaving and returning easy. Lori Luther is a compassionate manager that truly cares for her staff and I have deeply appreciated her help,” said Purdy.
Presenting the Patriot Award, was Minnesota ESGR Committee Member Peter Bartling, a former Active Army Officer and Reserve Member. ESGR is a Department of Defense program which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
