OMAHA, Neb. – Matt Hibbs and David Rexin, Assistant Regional Operations Controller and District Manager, respectively, from Graham Construction, Inc. were recently presented with Department of Defense Patriot Awards by Ron Boro and Ron Strawn, volunteers representing the Nebraska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Hibbs and Rexin were nominated for being highly supportive of their reserve component employee Sgt. Trent Bottolfsen, a member of the Nebraska Army National Guard.
Bottolfsen writes, “Matt Hibbs, my supervisor David Rexin, and Graham never wavered in support of my military service. While interviewing, I informed them of my commitment to service and an upcoming military school lasting five weeks. The response set the tone. They said, “it is absolutely not an issue and we’ll do one better and continue to pay your salary while you’re gone”. David has gone even further and discussed with my team how Graham can support my duties while I am absent, so I return to a house in order. Working for Matt and a company with this level of support for my service has made me even more proud of this company and military service.”
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Boro in his presentation. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units, and it’s a pleasure for me to recognize Mr. Hibbs and Mr. Rexin with this award.”
Following the award presentation, Rexin, signed a Statement of Support on behalf of Graham Construction, publicly acknowledging support for all National Guard and Reserve service members.
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
