BOZEMAN, Mont. – Charles Locke of Best Practice Medicine (BPM) was honored Oct. 29 with a Department of Defense Patriot Award presented by Montana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve volunteer Brooks Emeny on behalf of Montana Army National Guard Staff Sgt. William Eickman.
The Patriot Award was created by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve to publicly recognize employers who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.
Eickman was unable to be at the presentation but wrote in the nomination narrative: “Mr. Locke and under him, the entire staff of BPM have been extremely supportive of my service in the Montana Guard, especially during these past two years. They’ve valued my skills as an Army medic to perform COVID screenings to keep the miners of the Stillwater Mine working, and performing COVID tests for Bozeman Health."
"The Montana Guard has asked a lot of me these past two years and Charles and BPM have been incredibly supportive. When I was called on to assist the presidential inauguration mission, Charles did not hesitate in his support of me and the country during that critical time. He was flexible with my scheduling allowing me to work as much as I wanted, when I wanted to support my family."
"The additional paid training provided by Charles and BPM has also been incredibly valuable as an Army medic supplementing my knowledge of virology, immunology, biology, and public and unit health for my additional duties in field sanitation. He has fostered a positive environment of support for myself, an active guard member, as well as veterans and any citizen with a tradition of service would be glad to have a boss like Charles Locke in their leadership.”
ESGR, a program of the Department of Defense. ESGR is designed to assure that National Guard and Reserve military personnel are treated fairly and legally in regard to their civilian jobs.
