Buffalo, Minn.: U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Nathan Price was proud to present the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Pro Patria Award to his employer, the Wright County Sheriff's Department in a ceremony held October 13. His supervisor, Captain Patrick O'Malley received the award on behalf of the Department.
ESGR’s Pro Patria Award is presented annually by ESGR State Committees to employers who demonstrate the greatest support to Guard and Reserve employees through their leadership and practices, including adopting personnel policies that make it easier for employees to participate in the National Guard and Reserve. This is the highest level award that may be bestowed by an ESGR State Committee.
The Wright County Sheriff's Department provided significant support to its Guard and Reserve Members and their families, including aiding spouses and children of deployed Service members; wellness checks for families of Service Members; care packages to Service members; additional pay and leave beyond what was required by law; and many other benefits to the Service members and their families to help get them through the Service Members' deployments.
In addition to Price and O'Malley, participants and guests included Wright County Sheriff's Department leaders; and Minnesota ESGR representatives Everett Doolittle and Bob Adams.
ESGR is a program of the Department of Defense which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
