MILILANI, HAWAII – Executive Tax & Financial Services supervisors Calvin Cole Jr. and Jessica Cole, received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award recently for the extraordinary support they provide their employee Airman 1st Class Alyssa Primacio. The award for Jessica was received by Calvin on her behalf.
The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.
National Guard and Reserve members bring tremendous skills and capabilities to our workforce, and employer support for their military service is critical to maintaining the strength of our Guard and Reserve units. By valuing the military service of their Guard and Reserve employees, employers are directly supporting the readiness and retention of our All-Volunteer Force, and our national defense.
“Calvin Cole Jr. is a retired Air Force member himself and understands the importance of service. Not only did he teach me about working at the company, but he provided insight as how to further my Air Force career. I can’t possibly count the many things I have learned from Calvin on a daily basis. He is extremely supportive of my serving in the National Guard and as an Air Force ROTC cadet,” stated Primacio.
Primacio also mentioned, “Jessica Cole is an outstanding supervisor who displayed exceptional support of my military status. She never questioned when I was called for duty, and even let me use company computers to complete work for Air Force ROTC. Even though she is a civilian, she displays the Air Force core value of service before self. She went out of her way to build a professional friendly relationship with me and made sure I was always taken care of.”
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws.
