ESGR in the News

SHAKOPEE, Minn. – Mathew Meyer, Director of Ombudsman Services for the Minnesota Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), was presented the National ESGR Ombudsman of the Year award for his dedicated service June 30.

Meyer directs the ombudsman volunteers of the Minnesota ESGR to help employers and drilling Guard and Reserve members navigate the importance of the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).

USERRA is a U.S. Federal law that protects the rights of employers and Guard and Reserve members when military service is being performed.

Mathew was selected from a pool of ombudsman candidates representing the 50 states, three U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. His selection is a tribute to his dedication to our armed service members and the great companies that support our troops.

Presenting the award on behalf of the ESGR National Chair Rob Bogle is Thomas J Simonet, Chair of Minnesota ESGR Committee.
