FARGO, N.D. – Julianna Lindgren, a Fargo VA Heath Care Systems nursing supervisor, received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award recently for the support she provides her employee Sgt. Payton Foertsch, who serves in the North Dakota Army National Guard.
The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who have answered their nation’s call to serve.
“Thank you Payton for taking the time to nominate Julianna for this Patriot Award. We cannot do the ESGR mission without the service members taking the initiative to do these awards”, said North Dakota ESGR State Chair Delton Steele.
During the presentation Foertsch had this to say about Lindgren, “Julianna has been one of the greatest managers; she is very understanding and knows what we go through as part time soldiers and having a civilian job. Thank you for being so understanding.”
Also attending the event was North Dakota Army National Guard Capt. Eric Edwardson who said, “We cannot do what we do without soldiers like Payton, and she cannot do her job without the support of her employer, thank you.”
Fargo VA joins a cadre of Fortune 500 companies, state and federal, agencies and thousands of American’s employers in demonstrating support for our armed forces, added State vice Chair, David Johnston. “By signing the Statement of Support, Fargo VA is sending a clear message to its employees that while they are serving their country, they do not have to worry about their civilian jobs.”
