ESGR in the News

BISMARCK, N.D. – Steven Scheuer, Bismarck Police Department, shift supervisor, received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award recently for the extraordinary support he provides his employee, Army National Guard Capt. Bradley Miller.

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said ESGR volunteer Rob Keller. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”

“My shift supervisor made sure I was always in the loop with updates to my civilian job, I want to thank my shift team for picking up the slack while I am fulfilling my military obligation,” said Miller.

“I want to thank Capt. Miller for nominating me for this award, Capt. Miller’s military service benefits us bringing his experiences from the National Guard to the Police Department,” said Scheuer.

“Thank you for allowing Capt. Miller to perform his military service, supporting his local community and the state of North Dakota.  We appreciate the support of the Bismarck Police Department,” said Maj. Jay Sheldon, 131 Military Police Battalion Executive Officer, North Dakota Army National Guard.
