LAKE CITY, Fla. – Brittany Houston, United Parcel Service (UPS) Center manager, was presented a Patriot Award April 16 by Tim Lambert, ESGR State Vice-Chair for the North Florida Region in recognition of her tremendous support of her employee, Florida Air National Guard Master Sgt. Greg Ward, who is currently deployed.

“The Patriot Award was created by the Department of Defense to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the Citizen Warriors before them, have answered the Nation’s call to serve,” said Lambert.

Ward said in his nomination, “I am nominating my manager for the Patriot Award because she always supports me whenever I must report for my Air National Guard duties. I’ve completed almost 31 years of Service in the Air National Guard and attained the rank of Master Sgt. None of this would have been possible without the support of my company and my supervisors. Brittany has supported both my careers and it has helped greatly with decreasing the stress and transitioning between my civilian and military careers. Brittany is most deserving of this Award.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
