GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – Pinnacle Bank supervisor, Brad Bauer, was presented with the Department of Defense Patriot Award during a presentation by Joe Cook, a volunteer representing the Nebraska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Bauer was nominated for being highly supportive of his reserve component employee, Capt. Kevin Black, a member of the Nebraska Army National Guard.
Black writes in his nomination, “Brad has always been extremely supportive of my service in the Army National Guard. He always thanks me for serving our country and never makes my service or military obligations feel like a burden to the company, even when I feel like it might.”
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Cook in his presentation. “Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units, and it’s a pleasure for me to recognize Mr. Bauer with this award.”
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
