ESGR in the News

OMAHA, Neb. – Scott Dutchuk, the customer experience director at Linden Market Hy-Vee, was presented the Department of Defense Seven Seals Award by Ron Boro, a volunteer representing the Nebraska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), during a virtual presentation.

Dutchuk was presented the award on behalf of Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Kroon, a member of the U.S. Army Reserve in Des Moines, Iowa in recognition of Hy-Vee’s outstanding support to its military members. During a short notice deployment Kroon’s manager, Don Sundell, wanted to know if there was anything he could do, and offered to help the family during the deployment. Kroon writes, “Don really understands that my military service is of upmost importance.”

“The Seven Seals award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding support and cooperation to the military members in the area, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Boro in his presentation. “Supportive businesses are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units, and it’s a pleasure for me to recognize Hy-Vee with this award.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. For more information about ESGR outreach programs or volunteer opportunities, visit
