ESGR in the News

OMAHA, Neb. – Dr. Edward Bennett, Principal at Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska, was presented the Department of Defense (DoD) Seven Seals Award by Ron Boro, a volunteer representing the Nebraska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), during a virtual presentation.

Bennett was presented the award on behalf of Master Sgt. Kyle Parkhill, a member of the Iowa Air National Guard in Sioux City, in recognition of Central High School’s outstanding support to the military members. During deployments Parkhill’s co-workers work very hard to make sure suitable substitute teachers are found and students still receive a good education.

“The Seven Seals award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding support and cooperation to the military members in the area, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Boro in his presentation. “Supportive businesses are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units, and it’s a pleasure for me to recognize Central High School with this award.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
