COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) committee, a Department of Defense program, is pleased to announce the selection of Walter M Duzzny Sr., a Retired U.S. Army Colonel, as the new ESGR Military Outreach Director for Ohio.
Military Outreach (MO) Directors serve as primary coordinators for Military Outreach between ESGR and Guard and Reserve units. Duzzny will serve under Michael Bamber, the ESGR Ohio State Chair.
Duzzny will provide the leadership and vision for a team of dedicated volunteers throughout Ohio to carry out the ESGR mission and engage Service members across the State. “I am honored to be asked to participate as member of a dedicated ESGR team here in Ohio,” said Duzzny.
Mr. Duzzny, has over 30 years of experience in federal Homeland Security programs, serving in a wide variety of roles. He currently serves as the President of Emergency Planning Associates and Vice President of J. Tyler Enterprises LLC. He is a former instructor of law enforcement at Kent State and Youngstown State University. Duzzny currently resides in Austintown, Ohio.
With almost 40% of the United States’ military force serving in the Guard or Reserve, Duzzny will have a direct impact on these men and women, and their civilian employers. Mr. Duzzny joins 53+ other Military Outreach Directors who oversee the ESGR mission in the 50 states, three territories, and the District of Columbia.
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between service members and their employers.
