FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Dr. Drew Beaty of Drew Beaty, DDS in Federal Way, Washington, was presented in a remote ceremony with a Patriot Award by Larry Kirchner, military outreach representative for the Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, in recognition of his extraordinary support of an employee who serves in the United States Army Reserve.

Beaty was nominated by Army Reserve 1st Sgt. Carrie Kavanaugh, a dental hygienist with Beaty’s dental practice in her civilian career, for Beaty’s support of her military service. In nominating Beaty, Kavanaugh expressed her appreciation for the support and accommodation provided by Mr. Beaty, citing his support and understanding of her reserve military duties. “Mr. Beaty is understanding of my military duties, making my life much easier and alleviating many of the stressors of coming and going from civilian to military duty.”

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Kirchner. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
