BARRIGADA, Guam – The Guam-CNMI Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) committee, a Department of Defense program, is pleased to announce the selection of retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Renie "Rey" Llaneta to State Chair.
Llaneta's three - year term began October 1st. His appointment was confirmed by U.S. Navy Capt. Robert L. Underhill, Jr., Executive Director, Headquarters, ESGR, in Washington. The State Chair is an official Department of Defense volunteer position. It's a three-year term of service, renewable one time.
Llaneta will provide the leadership and vision for a team of 20 volunteers throughout Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to carry out the ESGR mission.
Llaneta is a 28-year veteran of the U.S. Army and Guam Army National Guard where he served in command and staff assignments in Europe, Central America, Southwest Asia and the Pacific. He has been an ESGR volunteer since 2010 and previously served as the Employer Outreach Director for the Committee.
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between service members and their employers.
