LEAVENWORTH, Wash. – Adam Newell, supervisor at Mountain Springs Lodge was presented with a Patriot Award Feb. 19 by Jon Ison, west central area chair for the Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in recognition of extraordinary support of her employee serving in the National Guard in front of 30 family and friends.

Newell was nominated by Oregon National Guardsman Staff Sgt. Jimmy Brown, a furrier and guide for snowmobiles and sleigh rides at Mountain Springs Lodge.  “With all the swell people that I work with at Mountain Springs Lodge, Adam stands out on top,” said Brown. “He knows and recognizes how hard military service work not only to defend our freedom and out way of life, but also our work ethic, our sense of commitment , and our attitude towards getting’ the job done.”

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Ison. “Our Guard and Reserve members could not perform their military duty without knowing their civilian employer supports them 100 percent.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
