HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – David Tackett, manager of service personnel at the Cabell County Board of Education was presented with a Patriot Award recently by Joe Holley, of the West Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in recognition of extraordinary support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

Tackett was nominated for being highly supportive of the Reserves by his Army National Guard employee, Spc. Jacob Anglin, a member of the 150th Cavalry Regiment.

The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

Anglin said this in his nomination, “He always goes out of his way to support the Army National Guard even when it puts a burden on himself and the organization.  He ensures that my paper work, pay and employment statues stays current without issue.  I cannot say enough about him and his team ensuring that I am taken care of and his support for the military.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
