ESGR in the News

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Pennsylvania Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an office of the Department of Defense, announced Lifetime Achievement Award recipients during its annual All–Ranks conference held at Fort Indiantown Gap April 13.

The award is presented to no more than six volunteers who have displayed a high level of volunteer support in a given year.

Upon presenting the Award, Kuhar said: “These six individuals demonstrated the highest level of dedication to the mission and objectives of ESGR. They have worked tirelessly and devoted numerous hours to reach the goals of supporting Guard and Reserve servicemembers through Military and Employer Outreach initiatives and Ombudsman services.”

Those receiving the Outstanding Volunteer Award include the following:
Wesley Craig: State Chair Emeritus, Southeast Area Chair, and Military Outreach Director
Terry Curran: North-Central Area Chair and Ombudsman Director
Michael Jones: Northeast Area Chair and Ombudsman
Susan Robertson: State Vice Chair, Northwest Area Chair, and Assistant Ombudsman Director

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies, resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members, and acting as the employers’ principal advocate within DoD. Paramount to ESGR's mission is encouraging employment of Guardsmen and Reservists who bring integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian workforce.
