MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota volunteer John Kingrey presented the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Above and Beyond Award to Lockridge, Grindal, Nauen, PLLP. The award was given March 19 during the monthly staff meeting in the offices of the Lockridge, Grindal, Nauen law firm in recognition of the firm’s support of its military employee’s service to the Minnesota National Guard and Reserve service members.
This award is given in limited numbers by State Committees to employers who have had at least one of their supervisors/managers recognized with a Patriot Award and who have signed an ESGR Statement of Support. The previous Patriot Awards were presented to Rebecca Peterson and Robert Shelquist.
The Above and Beyond Award was presented to only 26 businesses this year, from hundreds of Patriot Award nominations received in Minnesota that have honored their employees’ service in the United States military by providing assistance or benefits that go beyond the minimum required by the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (USERRA).
In presenting the Above and Beyond Award to the firm, Maj. Catherine Peterson acknowledged the teamwork led by Senior Counsel Maureen K. Berg to ship a generous care package to her Army National Guard unit that was deployed to the Southwest Border. In addition, she thanked the firm’s leadership, Partners Richard A. Lockridge and Charlie N. Nauen, for their support in her military and legal career.
ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
