ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Sgt. Justin Irwin of the Minnesota Army National Guard, is presenting the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award to his civilian supervisor, Mike Tenvoorde. The award was given Nov. 28 at Tenvoorde Ford in recognition of Mike’s support of Sgt. Irwin’s service to the Minnesota National Guard.
Irwin was very appreciative of Mike’s support and assistance with his service and wanted to honor him. Sgt. Irwin stated that Mike was very accommodating when he attends annual training or other duty and continues to support his service. Also present was Chad Sackett, an ESGR Minnesota Committee member.
ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws.
ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers. ESGR celebrates over 51 years of excellence in support of the Reserve Components and their civilian employers.
