ESGR in the News

Brookhaven, Miss. – King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) new chief financial officer is Adam Moore who also serves in the Army Reserves as a lieutenant colonel in Concord, North Carolina.

Moore nominated his supervisor, Ronny Humes for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award. ESGR volunteers coordinated with Moore and Melissa Leggett to surprise Ronny in the lobby of KDMC with many fellow employees in attendance.

Moore recognized Ronny as who embodies the spirit of the Patriot Award by having been very supportive of his career, always asking how things are when away fulfilling his military commitments, and ensuring he is never left out of any activity while he is away. Ronny epitomizes the type of supportive employer all Guard and Reserve members need during their military service.

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies, resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members, and acting as the employers’ principal advocate within DoD.

Paramount to ESGR's mission is encouraging employment of Guardsmen and Reservists who bring integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian workforce. For more information or to become an ESGR volunteer go to
