EVERETT, Wash. – Pachomius Schmidt, assistant principal at Eisenhower Middle School, was presented with the Patriot Award by John Van Dalen, an ombudsman for the Washington Employer of the Guard and Reserve Committee, for support of his employee who serves in the Reserve Component.
Schmidt was nominated by Army Reserve Lt. Col. Morgan Wolff, the 6th Grade Counselor at Eisenhower Middle School. “I nominated Pachomius because he is very supportive of my military career especially during the school year.” said Morgan. “He is a great mentor, and I am able to continue both work and my Army Reserves duties and responsibilities by knowing things are being handled.”
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Van Dalen. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
“We miss Morgan being here physically, but we know his military work is important and needs to be done. We find creative ways to work around his deployments,” said Pachomius who was surprised and delighted by the award. “This plaque is a great honor and thank you Morgan.”
