MINNEAPOLIS – An Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award and Statement of Support were presented to Xcel Energy. A company serving the electrical utility needs in 8 states that supports our Guard and Reserve members. Receiving an ESGR Patriot Award from U.S. Navy Reserve Lt. Samuel Tuttle (deployed) was Jay Ilstrup. Tuttle praised the support and guidance of his manager while continuing to serve in the U.S. Navy.
At the same presentation, CEO of Xcel Energy Bob Frenzel, continued the extraordinary commitment by signing an ESGR Statement of Support signify the company’s long-standing support the team members active in our Guard and Reserve services.

This sends a strong positive message to all individuals within Xcel Energy that wore and still wear the uniform to defend this great Nation.”
ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserves through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between service members and their employers.
