SPOKANE, Wash. – Kevin Dennehy, a branch manager at Alside Supply Center, was presented with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award recently in recognition of extraordinary support of his employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.
Dennehy was nominated by Navy Reserve Petty Officer 2nd Class Janine Hunt, a service and supply representative at Alside.
“My employer, since our initial meeting, expressed gratitude for my service to our country,” said Hunt. “They have continued to express gratitude and admiration for service as well as supporting any military obligation that have come up.” “He has shown me true support and appreciation for my military service and for that I am thankful,” Hunt added after the presentation.
The award was presented by Washington ESGR East Area Chair Jim Wynne.
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Wynne. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
“This truly is an honor to receive something as prestigious as this award,” said Dennehy. “Receiving this award is truly a highlight in my professional career. Janine is a great employee and brings a lot to this team. She always shows up with a positive attitude and offers great customer support to everyone who comes through the front door. Beyond being an outstanding employee, I am very grateful for the numerous sacrifices Janine, and folks like Janine, make for this country. I am honored to have Janine as an employee.”
