National Volunteer Week April 16 – 22

WASHINGTON – During National Volunteer Week, we thank our volunteers of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The citizen Soldiers and Airmen of the National Guard, and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen of the Reserve, benefit directly from the service of our ESGR volunteers.

When they complete their mission, National Guard and Reserve members return to their civilian careers and continue to fulfill their obligation of monthly weekend drills and annual training. In supporting their talented employees’ service to our Nation, civilian employers of National Guard and Reserve members directly contribute to our military readiness and our national security. It’s a cycle and network of support that strengthens our nation.

Our ESGR volunteers ensure that those connections between employers and service members remain strong. When there are challenges, our ESGR volunteers are there with resources, ombudsmen support, guidance and often times, resolutions at the lowest level.

In addition, ESGR volunteers shine a light on employers throughout the year administering a vast array of awards, Statements of Support and events. ESGR could not successfully complete its mission without the unwavering support and contributions of our volunteers.
