DETROIT, Mich. – Congratulations to Bill Kazmierski, Customs and Border Protection Technician at U.S. Customs and Border Protection who received the ESGR Patriot Award February 14.
Kazmierski was nominated by Petty Officer James Monaghan of the U.S. Naval Reserve who said, “As a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Technician, Bill Kazmierski exhibits the competence, expertise, and knowhow to assist Reserve and National Guard Members professionally and tactfully in every aspect pertaining to Military Orders and Military Deployments.
Bill Kazmierski aided in the coordination of a smooth and flawless Check-Out Process for Long-Term Military Orders from the Port of Detroit, MI. While on deployment to Djibouti, Africa, Bill kept in regular contact, ensuring the maintenance of proper Military Leave Coverages over two Fiscal Years in accordance with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Bill expertly supported in the reintegration process of coming off Active Duty Orders and returning to my job as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer at the Port of Detroit, MI.
As a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer, I regularly work weekends, which often conflicts with the Navy Reserve Drill Weekend Schedules. Even on short notice, Bill steps up to ensure Military Leave is properly coded with payroll. Bill’s proficiency and knowledge of Reserve and Guard Leave Policies and Procedures make it possible for me and other Reservists and Guardsmen at the Port of Detroit, MI to focus on the Missions of CBP and related Military Activities.”
Thank you to Mr. Kazmierski for supporting our Service Members.
