WYANDOTTE, Mich. – Supervisor Paul Emerson of the Wyandotte Social Security Administration received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award recently. Emerson was nominated by Master Sgt. Diana Nogiec of the Air National Guard.
Nogiec said, “My husband and I are both employed by the Social Security Administration. We both work in the same office and building in Wyandotte. Since April 2021 was on temporary active orders and have recently returned. Shortly after, my husband, a U.S. Air Force Reserve member, was on active duty status and still remains on orders. We work for the same section within our office and our absence left a void and harder workload for not only our supervisor as he best met the high demands of SSA but our short staff as well. He and the team of 4 from an original size of 7 navigated through one of the toughest times as an Agency learned to operate from a telework perspective. It was not easy for us both to be gone at the same time; 2 got promoted and moved offices. The Wyandotte office services River Rouge all the way up to Flat Rock. They definitely felt the struggle as a team and as the supervisor. For their support and welcoming us back with open arms and always being a proud supporter of military families is why I nominate Mr. Paul Emerson and the Title 16 unit of SSA at the Wyandotte office.”
We appreciate the support that the SSA and Supervisor Paul Emerson shows to our Service Members.
