ESGR in the News

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Staff Sgt. Jacqueline Judy, Army National Guard, is presenting the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award to her employment supervisor Cindy Schuh at the Mayo Clinic FISH-Lab. The award was given on Jan. 20 in Mann Hall in recognition of Cynthia Schuh.

Cindy supported Jacqueline’s service in the Minnesota National Guard by being constantly flexible to the requirements and demands of the military, which was often on short notice. She also coordinated care packages when Jacqueline was deployed. Jacqueline stated that she could not ask for a better supervisor as a support system.

Dr. Benjamin Kipp MD, Chairman of the Mayo Clinic Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology signed an ESGR Statement of Support demonstrating the Mayo Clinic’s commitment to aiding and assisting its military employees with both their military and employment needs.

ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between service members and their employers. This year, ESGR celebrates 51 years of excellence in support of Reserve Components and their civilian employers. For more information about ESGR outreach programs call (800)336-4590 or visit
