ESGR in the News

17

DULUTH, Minn. – Over two days in early January the Minnesota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) held a 148th Fighter Wing Warrior Weekend. The first day included a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon event at the Duluth Civic Center and on the final day a Mandatory ESGR briefing was presented at St. Scholastica College Mitchell Hall.

At both events ESGR volunteer Bob Boone represented Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.  At the conclusion of each presentation Bob informed the audience that ESGR Regions are in need of Volunteers to support the ongoing mission of ESGR.  ESGR looks for an average of 10 hours per month.  The duties would involve events such as annual ESGR briefings to units, supporting Boss lifts, and presenting Patriot Awards to supportive employers.  In all Minnesota Regions there are Army National Guard and other Reserve units that can be served by Minnesota ESGR.

ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws.  ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
