WEST ST. PAUL, Minn. – Spc. Parker Lewis of the Army National Guard presented two Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Awards to his supervisors, Manager Savannah Hinderscheid and Supervisor Kelsey Dicosimo, of Chick-Fil-A in West St. Paul Dec.15.

He stated, they always went far above and beyond in making sure he could meet his service obligation and never made him feel he was a burden and, in fact, made him feel he was greatly appreciated. They even had special going away activities as he was leaving and kept in contact with him while he was gone. They truly exemplify the assistance and flexibility that makes his role in serving his country a whole lot easier. Check-Fit-A manager, Savannah Hinderscheid, signed a “Statement of Support” and stated how much they appreciate and support his service. Also, present was ESGR Committee member Dr. Everett Doolittle who assisted in presenting the awards.

ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers. This year, ESGR celebrates 50 years of excellence in support of the Reserve Components and their civilian employers.
