SAINT LOUIS PARK, Minn. – U.S. Navy Reserve Petty Officer 3rd Class Olfunso Oresanya, is presenting the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award to his employment supervisor, Sophia Ginis.
The award was given Nov. 14th at the office of Metro Transit Blue Line in recognition of Sophia’s service to the United States Navy Reserve.
Olfunso was very appreciative of Sophia’s support and assistance with his deployments and wanted to honor her. Also present was Hiroshi “Yoshi” Asato, an ESGR Ombudsman, and Senior Chief Petty Officer Jonathan Martin, Olfunso’s senior enlisted leader with the Navy Reserves.
ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
