Welcome to Nevada Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (NV ESGR) and thank you for visiting our webpage! NV ESGR is comprised of over 50 dedicated and trained volunteers and one full-time staff working throughout the Battle Born State to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve. Our committee’s motto is “Whatever it takes!” And we apply this as we strive to develop and maintain relationships with Nevada employers and service members through programs such as Military Outreach, Employer Outreach, Mediation, and Employment programs.
Through our Military Outreach programs we educate individual service members and all levels of military commands about the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA), and the rights and responsibilities they derive from the law.
Through our Employer Outreach programs we provide awards requested by the service member employee for their supervisors who go above and beyond the legal requirements of USERRA to offer their employees the support they need. Appreciation for civilian employers is promoted among the Guard and Reserve with nominations for special Department of Defense awards. We also provide knowledge and understanding of USERRA to employers and human resource organizations at no cost.
Through our Ombudsman program we bridge the gap in understanding between the employee, employer, and USERRA so all parties can make the correct decisions in accordance with the law. We also partner with Hero 2 Hired (H2H) to aid Guard and Reservists in obtaining career employment opportunities.
We welcome you to explore our website and invite you to contact us. Our volunteers come from all walks of life; the committee is continually growing, and we invite all Nevadans to join us as volunteers as we assist our National Guard and Reserves and our great Nevada employers.
The ESGR motto says it all, "WE ALL SERVE!"
