ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

 ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

September 24, 2018North Hawaii Community Hospital supervisor honored by Department of Defense for patriotic support

WAIMEA, Hawaii – North Hawaii Community Hospital Registered Nurse Kim Bastin accepted a Patriot Award Sept. 20 in recognition of continued support provided to her employee, Sgt. 1st Class Clinton Haina, Jr., Hawaii Army National Guard.  The award was given by Hawaii ESGR Volunteer Patricia Champagne.

September 18, 2018Integrated Security Technologies president signs Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support

WAIPAHU, Hawaii – Integrated Security Technologies President, Christine Lanning, signed an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support Sept. 11. The signing was conducted by Hawaii ESGR Volunteer William Wade at a meeting between Wade, Lanning, and Samuel Wong, Program Support Specialist for the National Guard Employment Support Program.
