Indiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (INESGR) is a Department of Defense agency, led and operated by dedicated volunteers and staff whose mission is to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of USERRA, resolving conflicts through mediation and developing initiatives to increase employment opportunities for military service members and veterans.

With the dedication of over 75 volunteers across Indiana, ESGR reaches out to employers and military service members in functional areas such as Employer and Military Outreach, Public Affairs, Mediation, Training, and Employment Programs throughout the State.

April 23, 2013National Guard (in Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of April 16, 2013
The Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Air Force Reserve announced this week a decrease in activated reservists while the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Air National Guard and Coast Guard Reserve announced an increase of activated National Guard members and reservists. The net collective result is 328 additional National Guard members and reservists activated in comparison to last week. Learn More.
March 19, 2013ESGR Announces Nominees for 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award
ARLINGTON, Va.¬– Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense operational committee, received 2,899 nominations for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the Department of Defense’s highest recognition for employers supporting employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Up to 15 award recipients will be announced this summer and honored in Washington, D.C. later this year at the 18th annual Freedom Award ceremony. Past award recipients have met with senior leaders of the White House and Department of Defense as part of the award recognition. Learn More.

ST. IGNACE, Mich. – The U.S. Coast Guard Mackinaw, a heavy icebreaking ship, which operates in the Great Lakes, welcomed employers of Indiana Reservists and National Guardsmen in February 2013. The visit, known as a Boss Lift, was coordinated by Indiana’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program. Learn More.
