ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

December 18, 2014National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of December 16, 2014

WASHINGTON – The Army Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve announced a decrease in activated National Guard members and reservists this week, while the Army National Guard, Navy Reserve, and Marine Corps Reserve announced an increase of activated National Guard members and reservists. The net collective result is a decrease of 468 activated National Guard members and reservists in comparison to last week.

December 05, 2014Tampa Bay Buccaneers manager honored by Department of Defense for Patriotic Support

TAMPA, Fla. – Buccaneers Cheerleader & Mascot Manager Tara Battiato was given the Patriotic Employer Award by ESGR, an organization that supports reservists by ensuring they maintain civilian employment when they are called to active duty orders. Battiato was nominated by Jeannie Gonzalez, a first-year member of the Buccaneers Cheerleaders who is currently an active-duty reservist in the U.S. Navy.

CULVER CITY, Calif. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, announced that Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), today signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve.
