ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Unifrom Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

December 18, 2014National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of December 16, 2014

WASHINGTON – The Army Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve announced a decrease in activated National Guard members and reservists this week, while the Army National Guard, Navy Reserve, and Marine Corps Reserve announced an increase of activated National Guard members and reservists. The net collective result is a decrease of 468 activated National Guard members and reservists in comparison to last week.

CONCORD, N.H. – At the beginning of today’s Governor and Council meeting, Governor Maggie Hassan and the Executive Council recognized the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) for receiving the 2014 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest honor the Department of Defense gives to employers for exceptional support of National Guard and Reserve employees.

CULVER CITY, Calif. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, announced that Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), today signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve.
