Montana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (MT ESGR) has 26 dedicated volunteers and staff working throughout the Big Sky Country to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the Uniformed Services Employment Reemployment Rights Act, resolving conflicts through mediation, and connecting military service members and veterans with employment resources.

MT ESGR strives to develop and promote a culture in which Montana employers support and value the military service of their employees.  Employers are encouraged to hire Guard and Reserve members who represent drug-free employees and enrich a workplace with leadership and professionalism.  Appreciation for civilian employers is promoted among the Guard and Reserve with nominations for special Department of Defense awards.

December 18, 2014National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of December 16, 2014

WASHINGTON – The Army Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve announced a decrease in activated National Guard members and reservists this week, while the Army National Guard, Navy Reserve, and Marine Corps Reserve announced an increase of activated National Guard members and reservists. The net collective result is a decrease of 468 activated National Guard members and reservists in comparison to last week.

December 17, 2014Montana Secretary of State visits Joint Force Headquarters Fort Harrison
Helena, Mont. – It is not every day the Montana Secretary of State is invited to slip on the boots of a Montana Army National Guard member. Early this winter, Linda McCulloch was invited to do just that when she visited Joint Force Headquarters at Fort Harrison, Montana. She was invited to learn more about the Montana Army National Guard 1-163rd Combined Arms Battalion Charlie and Delta Companies.  Learn More.
December 17, 2014CompuNet receives Above And Beyond Award

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Above and Beyond Award was presented to CompuNet, Inc. by Montana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to recognize the company for going above and beyond to support their civilian employee, Master Sgt. Brendan Steele. The award was presented to company representatives to recognize their stellar efforts to go beyond the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). CompuNet provided their Montana Air National Guard employee, with additional, non-mandated benefits such as differential or full pay to offset lost wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits.
