ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Maine Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) office, announced that Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber Interim Executive Director Carolyn Farkas-Noe, signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve Nov. 12 at the annual Hiring Maine’s Heroes Job Fair with Brig. November 08, 2014Saint Joseph College supervisors honored by Department of Defense for extraordinary support of employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve

PORTLAND, Maine – Maine Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, announced Nov. 5 that John Tuttle and Lisa Pardi of Saint Joseph College in Standish was each presented the Patriotic Employer Award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employee Spc. Adam Gaulin who serves with the Maine Army National Guard 133rd Engineer Battalion in Portland.

CULVER CITY, Calif. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, announced that Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), today signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve.
