ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

Dickinson, N.D. – Ten employers from Bismarck and Dickinson were provided a unique opportunity to visit Camp Grafton, near Devils Lake, July 16. Also accompanying the employers was Rich Brauhn, the Region 8 Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee Chair from Dickinson.

FARGO, N.D. – Border States Electric, BSE, was presented with the Pro Patria Award from the North Dakota Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve July 21. The Pro Patria Award is the highest level that may be bestowed by a state ESGR and recognizes employers that provide extraordinary support to their employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

July 06, 2015Fargo-Wahpeton area employers take Boss Lift to tour Camp Grafton National Guard training sites

FARGO, N.D. – Ten employers from the Fargo - Wahpeton area had the chance to ride on a Blackhawk helicopter to Camp Grafton June 25. The employers were nominated by members of the Army National Guard and Marine Corps Reserve for their support during deployments and training.
