ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

April 08, 2015National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of March 31, 2015
The Department of Defense announced an increase in activated National Guard and reserve component members this week for the Marine Corps Reserve, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, while the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and Navy Reserve announced a decrease of activated members. Coast Guard Reserve numbers did not change from last week. The net collective result is a decrease of 87 activated National Guard and reserve component members in comparison to last week. Learn More.

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Florida Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) office, announced Steven Cappiello, Vice-President of Approved Mortgage Corporation of Homestead was honored Jan. 8 with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of his employee whose husband is serving in the Air Force Reserve.
