Northern Nevada employers honored for support of Guard and Reserve members

  • Northern Nevada employers honored for support of Guard and Reserve members

RENO, Nev. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for northern Nevada honored local businesses and individuals June 9 for their outstanding support of the men and women serving in the Nevada National Guard and Reserve. They were recognized during a banquet at the Tamarack Junction in Reno.

Among the organizations receiving ESGR awards for their support were the Coral Academy of Science, Sasse Surgical Associates, Dyer Lawrence Law Firm, Costco Wholesale, the Nevada Department of Public Safety, the Second Judicial District Court of Washoe County, Renown Health, Eldorado Resorts, Inc., Legacy Sports International, Reno Emergency Physicians, the Reno Bighorns, the Reno Air Racing Association, the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, the Nevada National Guard Family Assistance Program, and the Nevada Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States.

Individuals receiving awards included Carmen Rank, Alicia Nyland, Fred Barton, Jeri Norman, Tim Stanton, and Tanna Pearman. Also receiving awards were Glenna Smith from the office of Senator Dean Heller and Tracy Soliday from the office of Congressman Mark Amodei.

Guest speaker Ann Silver, CEO of the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce, explained how the Chamber is working to ensure veterans and members of the Guard and Reserve can succeed in the civilian workplace.
