Springdale Public School District superintendent receives Patriot Award

  • Springdale Public School District superintendent receives Patriot Award

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve volunteer Sharon Hopper presented the Patriot Award and Statement of Support to Dr. Jared Cleveland of the Springdale Public School District.

Arkansas Army National Guard Spc. Stacey Stillwell recognized Dr. Cleveland for, “the support he provided to her and her family during both scheduled and unscheduled training, and deployments.  Dr. Cleveland’s support of the Guard makes it easier for me to participate in current deployments.”

The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.  Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units. Our Guard and Reserve members could not perform their military duty without knowing their civilian employer supports them 100 percent.

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. For more information contact the Arkansas ESGR at 501-212-4018.
