FARGO, N.D. – Supervisor Dr. Dinesh Katti with North Dakota State University was awarded the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award April 22. Fargo ESGR Area Chair, Dave Johnston, arranged the presentation and Statement of Support signing ceremony.

Katti was nominated for being highly support of the North Dakota National Guard by Staff Sgt. Jan Lofberg.

Lofberg’s nomination read, “Dr. Katti has been my supervisor for eight years out of my thirteen years.  He has been nothing but supportive during all these years, during my military obligations of guard drills, annual trainings, schools, and State Active Duty.  Not that he requested it, but he has provided me with the necessary resources to be able to keep up with my civilian job while I was absent due to military obligations.  He has sent me off without a guilty conscience and has stated how proud he is of me.  In my twenty-six years of military service, I have never had a better boss that has supported me and I am proud to work with him.”

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, has answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Johnston.

“The award means a lot to Dr. Katti and his wife, as they are first generation Americans.  They called their folks in India to tell them!  Thank you so much, once again for everything,” said Lofberg.

ESGR seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
