JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. – Terrance Vanwormer, DynCorp Crash Damage or Disabled Aircraft Recovery program manager was presented with a Patriot Award Feb. 8 by Sam Peebles, Maryland Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve vice chair in recognition of extraordinary support of his employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

Vanwormer was nominated by Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Robert Arroyo, a DynCorp employee.

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Peebles, Maryland ESGR vice chair. “Supportive employers like Mr. Vanwormer are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units. Our National Guard and Reserve members could not perform their military duty without knowing their civilian employer supports them 100 percent.”

“I have been transparent with Mr. Vanwormer from the day I joined the company,” said Arroyo. “He has been nothing but supportive of my military career. He works with me to balance out my civilian work and military work without overworking me.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
